Coach Johnson began his high school basketball coaching career in 1994 and began his tenure at JJ Pearce High School in 2001. He has been the head basketball coach at Olney High School and Plains High School prior to coming to Pearce. He has 468 career wins entering this season. Coach Johnson played NCAA basketball at Abilene Christian University, where he graduated with a BS degree in History and Physical Education. Coach Johnson is married to Coach Sommer Johnson. She teaches Avid and P-Tech and coach’s volleyball at Pearce. They have 3 boys Haden (22) a senior at Abilene Christian University, Bryce (20), and Tate (12) a 7th grader at Parkhill Junior High.

Coach Lawson began his high school coaching career in 2003 and came to Pearce in 2004 spending his first year at Parkhill Junior High. Coach Lawson teaches AVID 2 and AVID 3. He is originally from Gainesville, Texas. He graduated with a BS degree in mathematics from Abilene Christian University in 2004. Coach Lawson is married to Cassy and they have a son in 7th grade named Cohen, a daughter in the 5th grade named Channing, and a daughter in 4th named Campbell.

Coach Reid began his teaching and coaching career in 2009. He has coached previously in Frisco ISD at Heritage High School and at Lake Highlands High School. He joined the Pearce Mustangs in 2015. He is a former Pearce graduate and went on to earn his degree in education at Baylor University. Coach Reid and his wife, Lauren have three daughters: Milly (5), Peyton (3), and Tatum (2) who are excited to be Mustangs. In his spare time, Coach Reid enjoys being outside and spending time with his family.

Coach Gooch joined the Pearce Mustangs in 2019.
